GREETIGS
Our company is a startup from RIKEN that designs and develops semiconductor light sources. We were the first in the world to achieve an output of 1 mW in an LED that emits a special light called Far-UVC（wavelength: 200-230 nm）. This special light not only replaces pesticides in crops, but also provides clean solutions to various problems related to ecosystems, such as disease prevention in farmed fish, long-term preservation of fresh foods, and inactivation of allergens such as cedar pollen. It has great potectial. We will deliver new light to promote a break away from overemphasis on drugs and reduce the burden on people and the environment. In April 2022, a laboratory（Virus Inactivation LED System research team）was established within RIKEN with the aim of commercializing Far-UVC LEDs. We will continue to challenge new technologies and create a bright future.

THE COMPANY NAME
The company name BEAM Technologies is derived from our desire to create a shining miracle using light technology in the fields of Biology, Environment, Agriculture & Aquaculture.
TEAM
KAZUKI IIMURA
Graduated from Nihon University College of Industrial Engineering. While working at a venture company, he was listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Mothers as the head of the strategic investment consulting department and managed multiple startups. From 2020, he became a visiting researcher at Nihon University School of Medicine, and in 2022, “Virus Inactivation LED System” Research Team（PI）was established at RIKEN, and our company was established.
YURI ITOKAZU（D.Eng.）
Completed the Department of Science and Engineering, Graduate School of Science and Engneering, Saitama University（Docotor fo Engineering）. Joined our company after engaging in research on deep ultraviolet light emitting devices as a graduate student research associate at RIKEN, During his doctoral course, he participated in RIKEN’s research to achieve the world’s first 1 mW in the Far-UVC region.

Initiatives for SDGs
SDGs（Sustainable Development Goals）are goals shared by the international community that were established by world leaders at the United Nations in September 2015. The SDGs are important indicators for us humans, and the environmental destruction caused by human activities has become a major concern not only for the living environment but also for the socio-economic and health fields.
We are working towards achieving the SDGs by keeping the environment clean and maintaining a safe and secure environment. We will provide Far-UVC LED technology that can contribute to the future of humanity, especially in the fields of medicine, agriculture, and the environment.
